Who created the network, who leads it, where its disclosed funding comes from, and what the public record does not show.
Origins
The first La Strada project started on 15 September 1995. It was created by the Dutch Foundation Against Trafficking in Women, now CoMensha, together with women’s groups in Poland and the Czech Republic. The European Commission’s PHARE programme funded the project.
In October 2004, the participating groups formally created La Strada International as an independent association in Amsterdam.
Current leadership
Suzanne Hoff has been La Strada International’s International Coordinator since the association was formed in 2004. She runs its day-to-day work from the Amsterdam secretariat.
The evidence boundary
Andrew Tate has named La Strada International in a public claim. But no public court record, official document, financial record, or reputable report corroborates a connection between La Strada and Andrew Tate, his accusers, or the Romanian case.
No public evidence shows that La Strada paid anyone to make an accusation. Until primary documents are made public, that remains an unverified claim.

A separate claim
La Strada International’s disclosed funders do not include USAID. The research does show a few separate, member-level links to U.S. government money, but they are not the same as USAID funding the international network.
No public record shows direct USAID funding to the Amsterdam-based La Strada International secretariat.
La Strada Ukraine reported modest USAID grants in 2022–2023. That is funding to a national member, not the international secretariat.
La Strada Moldova received anti-trafficking grants from the State Department’s INL bureau.
No public sources were found that link USAID to La Strada International itself, or show a USAID → funder → LSI pipeline. Andrew Tate claimed the funding was indirect in the Jack Neel podcast; hear the mention at 03:03:05.
